Features
Origin and history The first written record of requesón in As Neves is from the 12th century, when it was mentioned in documents about the pilgrimage route between Portugal and A Franqueira, known as ‘Camiño da Raíña’ (‘Path of the Queen’), because it was given to pilgrims by the locals. The product was commercialised after some time; first it was used as currency and later given in exchange for a financial reward. At first it was sold in 85-gramme portions wrapped in cabbage leaves, and in linen or aluminium foil later on.- Descripción del entorno: Urban
