From the 10th century B.C. until the 8th century B.C. there was a village on the eastern hillside. On the 6th century B.C. appeared a Galician castro, a fortified village that lasted until the 1st century B.C. and from which we can still see part of the walls, the moat and the stones left from the houses. Finally, in the 18th century, a coastal surveillance post for military purposes was built in the same place. The watchtower still remains nowadays.
